All'età di 12 anni decisi di abbandonare l'istinto per intraprendere una razionalità esasperata, ero stufa di stare nel mio mondo perché lì mi sentivo inadeguata e fuori posto, volevo piacere agli altri ed essere accettata. Ho indossato così tante maschere nel tempo da dimenticarmi chi ero e anche chi sono. La mia vera natura! In questo estenuante tentativo di non mostrare debolezze, di lottare e combattere sempre, mi sono persa lungo un terreno disseminato di trappole e ho smesso di scrivere. Dopo anni passati ad inaridire sempre di più la mia interiorità, l'anima ha iniziato a gridare il suo dolore riversando disagi anche sul fisico e sono stata costretta a fermarmi e ad ascoltarla ripercorrendo passo dopo passo la via di casa. Ritornando in quei campi dove scrivevo da bambina con, sullo sfondo, la montagna (il Monviso) dove tutto ebbe inizio. È incredibile come i condizionamenti esterni possano cambiare una vita, distorcerla, reprimerla. L'anima reclamava il suo paradiso perduto, era dunque giunto il momento di tornare da quella bambina che nessuno comprendeva per iniziare ad ascoltarla, abbracciarla e aiutarla ad avere il coraggio di scrivere liberamente senza più paure ne giudizi. Ognuno di noi ha già dentro di sé la cura ai suoi disagi e, se concede spazio e visibilità al bambino interiore, di sicuro lui gli mostrerà la via. Questo libro mi ha obbligata a rimettere in discussione la mia vita, ad uscire dalla zona di confort che mi faceva sentire al sicuro, a mettermi a nudo spogliandomi del superfluo e ad abbracciare la me bambina per un nuovo inizio più in linea col mio sentire.

At the age of 12, I decided to abandon instinct and embark on an exaggerated rationality, I was tired of being in my own world because there I felt inadequate and out of place, I wanted to please others and be accepted. I wore so many masks over time that I forgot who I was and even who I am. My true nature! In this exhausting attempt not to show weakness, to always struggle and fight, I got lost along a land strewn with traps and stopped writing. After years spent drying up my interiority more and more, my soul began to cry out its pain, pouring discomfort on the physical as well, and I was forced to stop and listen to it as I retraced my way home step by step. I returned to those fields with the mountain (Monviso) in the background where I used to write as a child and where it all started. It is incredible how external conditioning can change a life, distort it, repress it. My soul was reclaiming its lost heaven, so it was time to return to that child, which no one understood, to start listening to her, embracing her and helping her to have the courage to write freely without fear or judgement. All of us already have the cure to our discomforts within us, and if we give space and visibility to our inner child, they will surely show us the way. This book has forced me to question my life, to get out of the comfort zone that made me feel safe, to strip myself bare of the superfluous and embrace the child me for a new beginning more in line with my feelings.
