Professions and social identity. New european historical research on work, gender and society

Professions and Social Identity addresses the topic of professional identity in an innovative way. The authors use the prism of professions and social identity to look at how the fields of social history, gender history and labour history can interact,developing a new methodological space that goes beyond current national and disciplinary research traditions. The volume, edited by Berteke Waaldijk, is published by the Thematic Work Group on "Work, Gender and Society" operating as part of CLIOHRES.net, a Network of Excellence supported by the European Commission through the Sixth Framework Programme of the Directorate General for Research.
