An updated synthesis of the most controversial issues surrounding Spanish gilt lusterware, with a very important documentary contribution regarding the trade in Valencian lusterware in the late 15th century. It also contains the results of analyses of samples of ceramic pastes from the 14th to the 17th century. It further includes a catalogue of the 294 pieces of lusterware in the collection (Kashan, Murcia, Malaga, Paterna, Manises, Muel, Seville, Barcelona and Reus), with large colour photographs of both front and rear, as well as drawings of the ceramic profiles. A work that is essential to the understanding of one of the most fascinating varieties of ceramics to have been produced by human genius.
